Abstract
Geosynthetic materials used in various applications such as retaining walls, transportation, waste landfill, roads, dam, canals,
erosion control, steepened slopes, etc must maintain its inherent physical and mechanical properties when comes in contact with
aggressive chemicals present in waste, soil, ores etc. In this paper, literature on chemical resistance geosynthetics have been searched and reviewed to study the effect of chemicals on different geosynthetic materials during use. Various ways adopted to enhance the chemical resistance of these materials have also been discussed in this review.
