Test Laboratories are open from Monday through Saturday (except on
bank holidays) from 9.30 a.m. upto 5.15 p.m. The samples will be
accepted for testing and reports issued throughout the day [except
during lunch time i.e. between 1.00 p.m. to 1.30 p.m.]

Test
charges [PLUS prevailing service tax, educational cess and any other
taxes AS APPLICABLE from time to time] are to be deposited
in full as advance in the
form of Cash or AT PAR Cheque or Demand Draft drawn in favour of "THE
BOMBAY TEXTILE RESEARCH ASSOCIATION".

Normally,
test reports will be issued within seven days of receipt of
samples. Testing "on
priority basis" will be accepted at the discretion of
the Test Laboratories with an additional
test fee of TWICE the fees given in this manual.
Ø
The
minimum size for samples is indicated for each test in this manual.
Ø
Samples
less than the minimum quantity may be accepted for testing, in which
case, the test certificate will indicate a statement to the effect
that the sample size was small.
Ø
The
test certificates issued refer only to the samples submitted for
analysis.
Ø
The
samples should be properly packed and labelled.
Ø
BTRA
Test Laboratories maintain a standard atmosphere for conditioning and
testing of textiles viz. relative humidity of 65 + 2% and
temperature of 27° + 2°C as per ISO 139.
Ø
At
the clients' request, a sample may be tested without conditioning. In
such cases, the report will indicate that the tests were conducted in
"condition received".
Ø
All
possible care will be taken regarding the samples received for testing.
The Test Laboratories however is not liable for any loss or damage
that may occur due to unforeseen circumstances.
Ø
Tests
not mentioned in this manual may be done on request, subject to the
facilities available; the costs of such tests will be fixed on an adhoc
basis.
Ø
BTRA
Test Laboratories reserve the right to refuse the
acceptance of any sample for testing due to unsuitability of the
material or non-availability of facilities.
Ø
The
contents of test reports and correspondence with clients will be kept
strictly confidential and will not be disclosed to a third party.
Ø
The
samples for testing will be retained for a period of 30 days
after submission.
Ø
Normally,
the balance material after testing is not returned unless
specifically requested at the time of submission of samples, in which
case, the same should be collected within one month after
the issue of test report.

BTRA
Test Laboratories reserve the right to revise the rules and
regulations and schedule of test charges as and when deemed necessary.
